3 VIP MasterClasses on Virtual Production

LUX-XR, the virtual production division of Lux Angeles Studios, bringing their stage, their technology, and their team to the market, giving attendees direct
access to the people who live and breathe virtual production every day.

From hands-on demonstrations to expert-led sessions, this is a rare opportunity to get inside the world of LED volume filmmaking and learn what it can do for your next project.

#1: Virtual Production for Vertical Producers

Presented by Aedan McHugh, Operations Manager — Lux Angeles Studios Virtual Production Stage

The way stories are made is changing and vertical filmmakers are uniquely positioned to take advantage of it. This session is a ground-level introduction to virtual production on an LED volume: what it is, what it can do, and whether it belongs in your next project.

Aedan McHugh, Producer and Ops Manager for Lux Angeles Studios' virtual production stage, will walk you through the why - the creative and logistical reasons filmmakers are turning to LED volumes instead of practical locations or green screen. The when - the types of projects, scenes, and budgets where virtual production makes sense (and where it doesn't). And the how - a live demonstration with three cameras, each framed independently on the same LED wall, showing how a single volume stage can become multiple worlds in a single shoot day.

Whether you're producing your first vertical drama or looking to elevate your production value,
this session will give you a clear-eyed look at what LED volume technology can - and can't - do for your project. No hype. Just tools, decisions, and real creative opportunities.

#2: Vertical Hero Shots with Unreal Engine and Mosys Camera Tracking

Presented by Robert Reber, Virtual Production Supervisor and Unreal Artist

Master the Vertical Frame. Command the LED Wall.

At Lux Angeles Studios, we're bringing the future of vertical storytelling to the Vertical Drama
Market - and we want you in the room.

In this hands-on session, you'll watch a live virtual production pipeline come to life: a Mo-Sys
tracked camera talking directly to Unreal Engine, painting a cinematic 9:16 hero shot across a
full LED wall in real time. Not theory. Not slides. The actual thing.

You'll learn how lens choice, camera height, and subject placement transform an ordinary frame into something that stops a scroll dead in its tracks. You'll spot the difference between a shot that feels powerful and one that just feels... off - and more importantly, you'll know why.
From blocking your first vertical move in Sequencer to reading live tracking data on set, this is
where technical craft meets creative instinct.

Vertical is no longer a compromise. At Lux Angeles Studios, it's the whole point.

#3: No Roads Required: Car Process on an LED Volume

Presented by Jason Cowan, Director of Photography

On-location car process is one of the most variable, logistically demanding shoots in any
production - weather, traffic, permits, safety, and the unforgiving pace of a vertical production
day leave little room for error. This session explores why the LED volume is changing that.

DoP Jason Cowan walks through the craft and the case for bringing car process onto a volume
stage - how controlled lighting environments, repeatable backgrounds, and the elimination of
location variables give filmmakers something rare: creative freedom on a tight schedule. More
than a technical workaround, this is about what becomes possible when the unpredictability is
removed and the story takes the wheel.

Through live demonstration, Jason will show how an LED volume doesn't just replicate the look
of on-location car process: it elevates it. Sharper creative control. Safer sets. And production
days that actually run the way you planned them.
